ITINERARY

CUSCO – PISAC – URUBAMBA – OLLANTAYTAMBO – CHINCHERO – CUSCO

  • Pickup & Drive to Pisac : We begin with pickup from your accommodation (within the city centre) in Cusco in the morning or a designtated point (between 6:45 am am and 7:15am). From the city, we drive toward the Sacred Valley, stopping first at the archaeological site of Pisac, where you can walk through the terraces and explore the ruins while your guide explains their history.
  • Buffet Lunch: After the visit, we continue along the valley following the Urubamba River. Around midday, we arrive in Urubamba for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Ollantaytambo: In the afternoon, we visit Ollantaytambo, an important Inca town that is still inhabited today. Here you will walk through the stone streets and visit the terraces and temple area
  • Chinchero: Our final stop is the town of Chinchero. Here you will visit the Inca ruins and the colonial church built on top of them. You will also see a short demonstration of traditional Andean weaving with alpaca wool and have time to browse the small market where local artisans sell handmade textiles.
  • Return to Cusco: After the visit, we drive back to Cusco, arriving in the early evening and dropping you off near the main square.

Packing List

  • Clothing & Footwear: Dressing in layers is recommended. Even on sunny days, it can feel cool at the archaeological sites. Wear a light jacket or fleece, comfortable long pants (better than shorts due to sun and wind), and walking shoes or sneakers with good grip. You will be walking on uneven stones and grass, so avoid sandals or dress shoes. During the rainy season (November to March), it is recommended to bring a rain jacket or waterproof layer.
  • Sun Protection & Accessories: The sun is strong at this altitude. Bring a hat or cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect your skin and eyes. During the dry season, an after-sun lotion or moisturizer can help with dry skin caused by the sun and wind. A small backpack is useful to carry your personal items during the day.
  • Documents & Money: Bring your original passport, as it is required to purchase the Tourist Ticket (Boleto Turístico) used to enter the archaeological sites. Carry some cash in Peruvian soles for the ticket and small purchases. Many souvenir stalls accept cards, but sometimes a 5% fee may be added for card payments.
  • Hydration & Essentials: Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, a camera or phone for photos, and a power bank in case your phone battery runs low during the day.
