Terms & Conditions

1. Booking and Payment

By completing a booking with Bond and Travel, you agree to and are accepting these Terms and Conditions. This also confirms your acceptance of the specific inclusions and exclusions of the service or package you are booking, as detailed in your itinerary or confirmation.

To confirm your booking, we require an advance payment based on the type of service:

For One-Day Tours (Excluding Machu Picchu): A deposit of at least 30% of the total price is required to secure your booking. The remaining 70% balance must be settled in cash (PEN or USD) no later than 24 hours before the tour’s scheduled start time.

For Machu Picchu Tours or Packages that include Machu Picchu: A mandatory payment of at least 70% of the total price is required to secure the booking. This is due to the immediate purchase requirements and non-refundable nature of entrance tickets and train tickets. The remaining balance must be paid by the deadline specified in your booking confirmation email.

For Multi-Day Tours, Treks, Accommodation, and Spanish Classes (Excluding those with Machu Picchu): A deposit of at least 50% of the total price is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid by the deadline specified in your booking confirmation email.

For Packages with a TEFL Course: A deposit of at least 70% of the total package price is required due to the specific non-refundable costs.

After payment, you will receive an email confirmation within 12 to 24 hours.
At the time of booking, clients must provide the following mandatory information, as it is required for services like Machu Picchu entries, train tickets, and other government-regulated experiences:

  • Full name (as it appears in your passport)
  • Passport number and nationality
  • Date of birth
  • A clear photo or scan of your passport
  • Valid email address and phone number

Bond and Travel is not responsible for denied entries or service issues caused by an error or missing information provided by the client.

2. Payment Methods

Bond and Travel offers several secure payment options for your convenience:

  • Credit/Debit Card: We accept major credit and debit cards (e.g., Visa, Mastercard). All card payments are processed securely through a payment gateway.
  • Bank Transfer: We accept bank transfers in several major currencies. You can pay in US Dollars (USD), British Pounds (GBP), Euros (EUR), Canadian Dollars (CAD), or Australian Dollars (AUD) to our local bank accounts. Please contact us for the relevant bank details. Note that transfers may take several business days to clear, and any associated bank fees charged by your bank are your responsibility.
  • Cash (In-person): We accept cash payments in Peruvian Soles (PEN) or US Dollars (USD).

3. Visa and Entry Requirements

Visa and entry requirements vary by nationality. It is your sole responsibility to verify and obtain the necessary visas or permits to enter Peru or transit through other countries.

Bond and Travel does not provide visa support, immigration advice, or entry letters. For more information, you can consult the official Peruvian tourism website: https://www.peru.travel/en/plan-your-trip/entry-requirements

4. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for their own well-being and must ensure they are in a suitable physical condition for the tour. Travel Insurance (Fundamental Requirement): Your safety is our priority, and travel insurance is a fundamental component of your booking with Bond and Travel. We strongly advise that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance immediately upon booking. Please note that because Bond and Travel’s liability is limited (as outlined in Section 9), your travel insurance is essential to cover high-cost unexpected events, such as necessary medical treatment or emergency transport.

Accuracy of Documents:

  • You must review all booking documentation (itinerary, tickets, and vouchers) immediately upon receipt to verify that your names, dates, and passport information are correct, as indicated in the mandatory information required in Section 1. You must notify Bond and Travel of any errors as soon as possible. After initial purchase, any fees required to correct errors (e.g., reissuing non-refundable tickets) will be your sole responsibility.
  • Reading Trip Information: Recommendations, essential tips, and pre-departure information are included with your itinerary or confirmation email. It is the sole responsibility of each client to read.
  • Health and Fitness: You must inform Bond and Travel of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs that may affect your ability to participate in the tours.
  • Code of Conduct: You agree to abide by the directions of your tour guide and act in a respectful manner. We reserve the right to remove any participant from the tour whose behavior is deemed to be a risk to themselves or others, without a refund.
  • Personal Belongings: You are responsible for the security of your own luggage and personal belongings at all times. Bond and Travel is not liable for any loss, damage, or theft of personal items. However, we will make every reasonable effort to offer advice and assistance in these situations.

5. Changes and Rescheduling

If you request any changes to your original package (such as tours, accommodations, or travel dates), the updated price will be confirmed in writing.

General Change Policy:

  • Non-Changeable Items (Tickets & Permits): Machu Picchu entrance tickets and Inca Trail permits are strictly non-changeable, non-reschedulable, and non-transferable once booked.
  • Multi-Day Treks: Changes to services within multi-day treks like the Inca Jungle Trek and Salkantay may be possible for accommodation, transport, or guiding. However, the Machu Picchu tickets within these tours remain non-transferable. Specifically, Inca Trail permits are non-refundable and the expenses cannot be transferred to another person. (Train tickets are subject to the specific date change and transfer rules detailed in the next point.)
  • Train Tickets: Train tickets are non-refundable, and the only possibility is a date change with a minimum of one week (7 days) written notice. If you notify us after this one-week deadline, there is no guarantee of a refund, transferred date, or transfer of the ticket to another person. All date changes remain subject to the train operator’s availability and applicable change fees.
  • One-Day Tours (Excluding Machu Picchu Full Day): For cancellations made at least 24 hours before the tour’s scheduled start time, Bond and Travel will check your request to offer a courtesy refund or reschedule your dates, depending on the circumstances and any non-recoverable costs already incurred.

Specific Service Policies

  • TEFL Course: The TEFL course is non-cancelable. Rescheduling a TEFL course is possible and is subject to availability and the time of the request. You may change the dates of the course or even move it to another country, such as Costa Rica or Guatemala, depending on availability. Note that a price difference may apply, which might be higher than the original price provided. However, clients always have the option to transfer their booking to another person or opt to take the course online (if available).
  • Accommodation: The policy for cancellations and rescheduling depends on the type of accommodation booked:
Homestay: For a partial refund (minus the non-refundable service fee), you must notify us at least 20 days in advance. If you cancel after this time, the refund request will be evaluated to determine if any partial refund is possible based on costs already incurred. All refunds are subject to a 200 PEN service fee.
  • Hostel or Hotel: Cancellation and rescheduling policies for hostels and hotels are subject to the specific terms of the individual provider. The possibility of a refund or change will depend on their policy and the amount of notice given.
  • Spanish & English Classes: Classes are 100% refundable if you cancel at least 72 hours before the start of the course. For refunds requested after the course has started, we will evaluate the situation to determine if a refund is possible.

6. Cancellation & Refund Policy

While many of the policies governing the services we provide are non-refundable, we will always do our best to assist our travelers. Refunds for cancellations will be calculated based on the recoverable amount, after deducting any non-refundable costs we have already incurred for your booking (such as permits, tickets, and provider deposits).

Train Tickets: Please note that they are non-refundable. Bond and Travel will promptly submit your request and manage the process. We assure you we will make every reasonable attempt to verify any flexibility offered.
Process: When you cancel, we immediately check to see what costs can be recovered. Your refund will be based on this recoverable amount, and we may offer a credit for future use (valid for 12 months) for certain services.

Non-Refundable Items: Entry tickets (such as Machu Picchu and Inca Trail permits), which are strictly non-refundable. Important Note on Last-Minute Cancellations: The possibility of a refund or rescheduling for cancellations made at the last minute depends on the service. Please refer to the specific terms outlined in section 5 for each service.

7. Force Majeure & Unexpected Situations

Bond and Travel is not responsible for changes, delays, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our control. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Natural disasters or extreme weather
  • Strikes or labor disputes
  • Political instability or civil unrest
  • Health emergencies
  • Transportation shutdowns or delays
  • Governmental actions or restrictions

These situations may affect access to destinations or services (e.g., Machu Picchu, Inca Trail). However, when possible, Bond and Travel will do its best to assist you in rescheduling or finding alternatives in coordination with local operators. Any additional costs related to new bookings, transportation, or accommodation must be covered by the client.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bond and Travel, its owners, and employees from and against any and all liabilities, claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to:
Your negligence or willful misconduct during your participation in the tour.
Your breach of any term or condition of this Agreement.
Any injury, property damage, or loss caused by you to a third party.

9. Responsibility and Limitation of Liability

We want your travel experience to be safe and enjoyable.

  • Voluntary Assumption of Risk: By participating in our tours, you kindly acknowledge that you are voluntarily assuming the natural risks associated with travel, including the potential for injury, illness, or death.
  • Our Liability: You agree to release and discharge Bond and Travel from all claims related to such risks. Bond and Travel is not liable for any injury, damage, loss, or expense caused by the actions or negligence of any person or entity other than Bond and Travel itself.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Peru. You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising from your use of our services shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Cusco, Peru.

11. Amendments to Terms

Bond and Travel reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any subsequent changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website, and your continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.

12. Governing Language

These Terms and Conditions have been drafted in the English language. In the event of any conflict or dispute, the English language version shall prevail and govern.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Bond and Travel relating to the subject matter of this agreement and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, and agreements.
