How Much Is the Entrance Fee to Qorikancha?
Qorikancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, is one of Cusco’s most important archaeological sites and one of the first places many travelers visit after arriving in the city.
If you’re planning your visit, one of the first questions you’ll probably ask is how much the entrance ticket costs.
Qorikancha Entrance Fee
The current entrance fees are:
- Adults: S/ 15
- Students (with a valid student ID): S/ 8
- Children under 10 years old: Free
Payment is usually made in Peruvian soles at the ticket office, although it’s always a good idea to carry some cash in case card payments are unavailable.
Since ticket prices can occasionally change, it’s worth confirming the latest rates before your visit.
Is the Ticket Worth It?
Absolutely.
Although Qorikancha isn’t one of Cusco’s largest archaeological sites, it is considered one of its most significant. Before the arrival of the Spanish, it was the most important temple in the Inca Empire, dedicated to Inti, the Sun God.
Today, visitors can admire the remarkable Inca stonework while also exploring the colonial church and convent that were built directly on top of the original temple.
For anyone interested in Inca history, architecture, or culture, Qorikancha is well worth the entrance fee.
